Phygital Sport Armenia

Phygital sports, which combine physical and digital elements, are rapidly gaining traction in Armenia. A growing number of young people and professionals are getting involved in this innovative field.

The development of phygital sports in Armenia is being driven forward by local tournaments and championships. These events not only highlight the talents of local athletes but also spark new interest among the public.

On January 26, 2024, Armenia hosted its first-ever phygital football tournament. Eight teams competed, starting with a virtual football match and then continuing the same match with the same score in a real-world setting. The semi-finals and finals were Live streamed, attracting a large online audience. At the end of the tournament, the top teams received cash prizes, with a total prize fund of 2 million AMD.
